Xristina Kalfa, founder and creator of Astrophel, is a professional astrologer based in Portland, Oregon. She has seen clients professionally since 1998, and is a Level One certified evolutionary astrologer trained by Steven Forrest. Xristina's approach is contemporary and humanistic. In 2003, I received an Oregon Astrological Association scholarship to study ancient astrology and cosmology at Kepler College in Seattle. It was a dynamic time in the school's history, and I had the very good fortune to study with Robert Hand, Demetra George, Dennis Harness and Nick Campion. Learning the philosophical foundations of Western astrology profoundly influenced my thinking as a working astrologer. (Given the opportunity to be a total geek, I find myseslf particularly interested in astrological and Hermetic texts in their original Greek.)
In practice, Xristina blends Steven Forrest's deeply insightful, evolutionary model with an understanding of how the ancients approached astrological symbols. A spirit of robust and playful inquiry comes through in her work.
